TEACHER TRAINING: TAPPING THE BIGGER PROBLEM FIRST

Education is the root of all good and bad things.  It is the weapon that is capable of changing the future of the world. All the countries are imparting education in one form or the other. They are constantly striving for improvement in their education system. Only with good input, we can get the good output, so is same in the education system.
The Indian education system is the largest teacher-based education system. We have schools, colleges, and universities ranging from the government institutions to the private institutions. All these systems of imparting education are teacher-based, where teachers are linked directly to the students.
In late 1980’s, India saw a major expansion in the school system and in early 1990’s demanded an increase in the number of teachers. For proper functionality, regulation, and coordination of these school system. A National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) was established by an Act of Parliament in 1993. This is an all-powerful regulatory body of Teacher Education System.
From 1993 to 2013, NCTE has kept a foot forward in developing and enhancing the education system where they deal with the development of what seemed to be the weakest the teacher-based education system. They look at the overall development of the educational curriculum where they produce quality faculty.
License to run an institution was sold to colleges even when they don’t have proper infrastructures, affiliation or faculty members. NCTE takes care of matters hindering sound education outcomes, where they would look after licenses were issued to the colleges.
Many such issues are the obstacles of the education system. The inside system of Indian education system seems to have corrupted. Teacher absenteeism is one of the main reasons for that, it does not only affect the quality of education to be imparted but the government educational fund that has been sanctioned, also goes to waste because of such factor.
The University Grants Commission looks after the grants in educational institutions but is not being able to look after all educational issues due to political interference. Private institutions go through teacher change in between their academic calendar which affects the student’s learning environment. Many other such factors are affecting the education system and the future generation of India in this process.
Expert talks in view of the matter that has been made by Shri Anil Swarup, Honourable Secretary Department of School Education & Literacy, MHRD, GOI. He says, although India has certain judicial laws that take care of such issues, the implementation of these laws at a certain time and place is not effective. He suggests that the only way to take real care of the issue is by training our teacher. He says that if we have the best teaching force, we can remove all barriers pertaining to the issue.
He suggests an appropriate and affordable technology to train the teachers for an assured security in the education system.
As said by the Honourable Secretary, there is so much to be done towards creating a change of environment in the education system of our country.
